Just when the heroes have settled back into a pattern of normalcy, new faces flooded into the Proper after hearing strange rumors about a river monster causing havoc in The Dale, a large footed creature tromping around Medici, and some about a cult wanting to know what a “heroic soul” truly is.
While the new heroes investigated the river creature and the “Largestomp”, seasoned heroes had their own problems. Friday of the gathering a group of these established heroes went on a covert mission into the Plains to deal with a clan of Plainsmen that had been a problem in the past for one of their fellow heroes. Not a lot of details on that but what matters is that the tribe was dealt with and the heroes managed to free all ten slaves. The freed slaves were given safe haven back in Avalon.
Saturday of the gathering investigating parties went out to find out more about the river creature and this so called “Largestomp”
According to the stories, the river monster that tipped over a raft carrying a wine shipment was nothing more than a swamp troll. The young heroes were able to vanquish the swamp troll successfully! Another party had looked into the “Largestomp” that was apparently a lost Fae creature. It had been wandering around causing a panic because it was just trying to get home to its own realm. The young heroes managed to find it a way through a Fae Gate.
Speaking of the Fae, the Mourning Harlequin made an appearance looking for some young heroes. It is unclear what the mission consisted of but one heroe, a guardsman of Medici, a follower of the Light, gave up something so precious to him to save another. This something precious was the guardsman’s sense of humor. With a Fae Lord involved there may not be a way to get it back.
Saturday evening has some interesting interactions happening. Darkwood triffids were just sprouting everywhere. The source was unknown until someone stumbled upon a young Darkwood tree where one should not be. Wielding some axes, a large group went out to cut down the corrupted trees and rid the area of the triffids. Another success by the young heroes!
As for the cult; there were different factions running around the whole gathering. One part was just talking with the Avalonians about what makes a heroic soul. But the other… They were performing experiments on innocents while also working with Necromancers. There was a mission that went out to disband that nonsense, but the innocents could not be saved in time. Towards the end of the gathering there was a group from this cult group that had various prisoners to see if they have “heroic souls” using a ring of some sort. Through the efforts of Warlord Dris, Countess Silverpool and Boss Magnus they were able to negotiate a peaceful outcome. The prisoners were released and the cult members were brought back to the Inn to be questioned and sentenced for their individual crimes. The quiet didn’t last long as a large horde of Orcs barreled in for an attack. The Avalonian heroes were able to stave them off and defeat them.
As the gathering dies down the heroes rest and prepare for their next adventure. They will be head out to New Glenden, the home of Halflings, to help the with what they call a “Weaslefolk problem”…
What awaits the heroes in New Gleneden?
