As Reported by The Avalon Press
The April gathering proved to be quite busy and challenging, which may have ended with reality breaking. Based on the reports we have gathered, it is unclear at this time exactly what happened, but we will try to give our best summation of events.
In the main story of the gathering, Fae creatures were the primary issue concerning the Host. Red caps attacked at several times, claiming they were at “war with Someone!”
On Saturday morning, a Red Cap came to the Inn claiming that King Powrie of the Red Caps wished to speak with the Heroes. Despite some miscommunication and Lord High Inquisitor Nathan killing the messenger, the Heroes marshalled to where King Powrie waited with a small army of Red Caps and other Fae creatures. King Powrie, after insulting the Host, claimed that they wished to kill Someone, or the Fae creature that was once Lady Orla, or Lady Autumn, before they became Equinox. King Powrie then claimed that they had declared war on Someone, and in turn declared war on Avalon because they were allies with Someone since “Avalon gave them the magic box.” We believe this “magic box” was the Enigma Box that once held Bazmodeous’ divine spark. The Host then fought against King Powrie’s army, which proved to be a difficult fight, as the Red Cap’s ability to cause sleep proved brutal. But, it seemed, during the fight, aid was provided from an unknown source, helping to heal Avalonians. It might have been Someone, but it is unclear. Regardless, King Powrie and his forces were beaten back.
Throughout the gathering, several Fae expressed that the situation in the Fae realm was falling apart. According to reports from various Fae, including Mr. Grimm and Whimsy, the Unseelie Court was without a leader. Previously, Equinox, the combined being of Lady Blardiweth or Spring with Lady Orla or Autumn, presumably ruled the Unseelie Court. However, when they became the being now known as Someone, they seemingly abandoned their responsibilities to Fae. This mean the Unseelie Court was running rampant, attacking the Seelie Court. According to Mr. Grimm, this is why Lord Inalio or Summer and Lord Agoneral or Winter were not approaching the Host with this issue: they were too busy trying to keep the Unseelie at bay. There was also an active struggle amongst the Fae Lords trying to ascend to become the new Spring or Autumn. However, the more pressing issue was the fact that Someone was threatening the stability of Fae. They had grown too powerful a being. As a result, by simply existing, they were poised to break the barrier between Fae and Midlantia. When asked, none of the Fae knew what would happen if reality broke and the two realms merged. However, they urged the Host to deal with Someone whatever way they could. Someone did appear shortly after the fight with King Powrie.
They gathered a group of Heroes on a specific mission: help create a new Lady Spring. The mission ended up being surprisingly tough, as Red Caps proved to be a constant threat. But ultimately, the Heroes succeeded, managing to create a new Lady Spring. Other details about this new Fae being are scarce at this time.
Everything with Someone came to a head Sunday. Although reports are muddled, several Fae portals opened. Red Caps poured out, intending to fight both Avalon and Someone. During the fighting, a Fae, which had appeared throughout the weekend known as Audience, struck some sort of deal with Someone. Whatever exactly happened, Someone grew in power then exploded. Some reports indicate that what was once Someone split into two other beings, but we are unsure of the specifics.
From there, reports continued to be confusing. Several people came in all reading different editions of the Avalon Press from various years, claiming it was the latest edition. Flyers advertising for the Cult of the Cryptic Shade, a cult formerly dedicated to the hierarch Azeroth based in the Darkwood, appeared. There were even reports of C.R.A.P. members (Citizens Rebelling Against Parasites, a hate organization acting as a front for Graythrone that killed the old Elven Queen) arriving at the Inn asking for support. At the very end, Lady Autumn reappeared. We are still gathering more information on this situation and will report more as it develops.
In other news, the Lord of the Deep continues to threaten the Host. The Avalonian known as Tezzie had been kidnapped by the Lord of the Deep last year, where they had been unwillingly trapped in the Void.
On Friday evening, they were flung back into the Five Lions Inn at what was described to reporters as “terminal velocity.” In addition, a being known most commonly amongst the Host as “The Meatball” kept appearing. The Meatball, or as it is actually called Oracle of the Void, is a floating ball of void with too many eyeballs. This being could not be attacked, as it touching it in any way allegedly led to one being transported to the Void. According to reports, any item thrown at it was also “sucked into the Void” including various snacks and desserts from the tea party held Saturday afternoon. On Saturday evening, a mission went out to a place in the Void known as Cabaret du Oubli in the City of Truth. It is unclear what happened during this mission, although it was unhelpfully described as “catching a show” to reporters. It should be noted that Oracle of the Void did also appear in the Avalon Press offices and would not leave until it had an interview.
Moving on, there were also reports of undead. One of them, a Death Slave under a Feign Life, approached the Hero known as Liluth. This undead claimed Liluth was the reason they were an undead. They then attacked Liluth but were quickly subdued. A group went to investigate the situation, although we do not have any other details at this time.
Next story, there were reports of Prince Huxley and Princess Allena holding multiple meetings amongst the Host Saturday night. It is unclear what these meetings were for, but they ended up staying amongst the Heroes deep into the night for conversations. Ultimately, there are still many questions we are trying to answer. However, we at the Avalon Press will be working diligently to get those answers and update as the situation develops.
