Are you a hero?
For one weekend a month, throw caution to the wind and blaze a hero’s trail in the capital city of Avalon – a place where all manner of men and mystical beings congregate in search of adventure, glory, and fun.
Whether honing your magical skills at The Guild of Arcane Lore, laboring in The Armory to craft extraordinary weapons, trading all kinds of wares at the Gold and Glory merchant’s outpost, or exploring the far expanses of the world of Midlantia, your character will be an integral part of our living story.
LAIRE is open to players of all backgrounds age 16 and up. Your first event is free, complete with new player training and an open community happy to welcome new faces to the game.
The Story So Far…
Avalon’s host of heroes remains in the borders of Briton as the dust continues to settle on their victory. Feelings about their victory from the Nymidian citizenry continue to vary. Some come to them grateful but others with more malice in their words. Necromancers are also on edge with the outlawing of their choice of magic use. Avalonians have managed to speak with some of these Necromancers about repenting and being rid of their knowledge and others have sought it out specifically. The Empress has opened safe havens in nearby cities for these people to go if they are true of heart to be rid of their evil magic.
But, some 200 Necromancers, who were not repentant, tried to travel on by to North Psynia to seek refuge there where it would be safe for them. The heroes caught wind of this and intercepted their march and stopped them in their tracks.
The heroes still wait for word to return home but in the meantime it seems that the Highlanders are holding their traditional games and wish to include the Avalonians.
An emissary from the Highlands arrives to Briton
Emissary: “In a Highlands Brogue Great Avalonian heroes! Your war has been won and Thalman enemy of prosperity is defeated. The clans of the highlands convene for the annual games. To you, all heroes of the war, we invite you all to partake in our highland games and to help us celebrate a new peace in our time. You will be the honored guests of all clans the moment next your feet stand on our hillocks. Drink will flow like rivers from our casks as we celebrate your victory over tyranny and a new age for the clans.”
