Birth of a New Fae!

As Reported by the Avalon Press

In an unexpected turn of events, the host of Avalon found itself in the Fae realms caught in a clash between the Fae Lords of Spring and Autumn. In our top story on Saturday of the April Heroes Gathering, the Host awoke to find themselves in Fae. In this part of Fae, the Five Lions Inn had been recreated, with various Fae “actors” pretending to be members of the Avalonian Host, such as Earl Doomwalker, High Inquisitor Nathan, Sir Eberhard, and others. The Avalonian Host had been brought to Fae to choose sides in a conflict. Lady Orla, commonly known as Lady Autumn had managed to amass great power. According to reports, she had gotten such power “from her friend Etrigant.”

In Etrigant’s ascension to Hierarch, he gave Lady Autumn several items of power in exchange for the ability to create Fae Gates. Lady Autumn wanted the Host’s help in taking over Spring’s domain. Queen Blardiwith, known commonly as Lady Spring, begged Avalon for their aid in remaining Queen of the Unseelie Court. The general consensus amongst most of the Heroes was reluctance: they had no desire to aid either side in the conflict but were forced to nonetheless. While in Fae, the Heroes went on several strange quests and dealt with equally strange tasks. There were accounts of a bizarre game show, a tortuous game of building furniture followed by twenty questions, and a deadly retelling of the fairy tale Snow White. While also in Fae, there were several sightings of Firbolg, all of which were intent on hunting down the Fae present. For those unaware, Firbolg, creatures of blue skin and orange fur, are innately resistant to magic and once resided in Fae. However, the Fae, fearful of the Firbolg, imprisoned them. As a result, when the Firbolg came to Avalon, many harbored a deep hatred for the Fae that had imprisoned them, with some also wishing to hunt down Elves for their Fae heritage.

In the end, the nobility of Avalon chose to back Lady Autumn on the condition she was “no longer friends” with Etrigant. This decision seemed to boil down to the fact Lady Autumn had built a relationship with Avalon over the years and because Lady Spring had been rude to Avalonians in the past. When the time came for the two Fae Lords to fight, the Avalonian Host was spilt in the conflict and forced to fight one another. However, ultimately, Lady Autumn was successful and absorbed Lady Spring. As a result, the new being became Queen of the Unseelie Orliweth, or Equinox. However, in this process of becoming, the Avalonian Heroes were forced to go through a series of trials and only final fight in order to escape through a portal out of Fae. Despite these unexpected developments, the Host was finally returned to Avalon. In other news, the Avalonian Erlan was recovered. In December 1124, Erlan was kidnapped from the Dale lodgings by vampires of New Tiraine. Friday evening of the April gathering, a group managed to recover Erlan. The group returned to the Five Lions Inn via a Fae portal in various states of wounded, but ultimately whole. On Sunday of the gathering, a Kaletani from Nasharapura, Aditti arrived with Captain Roj’car Thunderwave of the Inky Squid. According to Aditti, Nasharapura is in dire need as demons have suddenly appeared en masse on the island. After speaking with the Heroes, they agreed to journey on the Inky Squid to Nasharapura and aid them in their time of need.
