The Heroes of Avalon experienced dancing, entertainment, and unexpected arrivals on the Summer Ball. During the last week of July, His Highness Prince Jerrin of Avalon posted the following announcement: “By Royal Decree of His Highness, Prince Jerrin of Avalon You are cordially invited to The Summer Ball, to be held on the evening of August 2nd, from the fifth hour to the ninth, within the royal ballroom. An Evening of Elegance Awaits: Dancing under starlight, Live music to stir the soul, A spread of fine fare for honored guests, A Best Dressed Contest hosted by the House of Dragonheart. There shall be a raffle for splendid prizes items beyond your wildest desires. Be prepared to try your luck at courtly fortune! In respect of the Prince’s wishes and courtly decorum, no weapons of war shall be permitted within the ballroom, this will be strictly enforced. The Prince looks forward to seeing the realm in its finest splendor!”
Many of the Heroes of Avalon attended this Ball, eager to take a moment to relax after the ongoing horrors of High Inquisitor Nathan’s attack on the Dale. However, as they arrived, the Host experienced several surprises. The Fae formerly Lady Spring and Lady Autumn, Equinox, appeared and set up a Haven effect. This means no fighting or taking any other violent action. Equinox also arrived with none other than High Inquisitor Nathan and Seneshal Tash, who had been kidnapped by the High Inquisitor during his battle with the Dale. Both High Inquisitor Nathan and Seneshal Tash had no memory of what had occurred.
However, that was not the only notable guests. Prince Jerrin’s children, Prince Lamont and Princess Allena were present during the ball, although they seemed to be in disagreement about the future of Avalon’s affairs. The duo announced that Prince Jerrin is very sick and will not recover. Prince Jerrin said the people of Avalon will choose a leader, although it is unclear at this time what this means. However, most surprising was none other than the Hierarch Shaun Vicks, the Ghoul Queen Rodmilla, and the Handmaiden. These three were an unpleasant arrival, but the Haven prevented the Heroes from taking any action against them. During the course of the ball, somehow the Haven was disrupted. The Hero Zac Vics was kidnapped by Shaun Vicks. According to reports, Zac Vics was insulting Shaun Vicks, which led to Shaun retaliating. Doubtless, the Heroes will be making plans against Shaun Vicks in the near future.
As the August gathering approaches, many Heroes are looking forward to the upcoming Baronial Fair. Set to run on Sunday morning and afternoon of the gathering, it is an event highlighting each of the baronies of Avalon. It should be an exciting time for all in the midst of what looks to be chaotic gathering.
